Liked our nicely furnished and reasonably large rooms in this place.
Location: the hotel was just off the minimart and city centre, and North Sumatra. It also was in the center of Berastagi.

the complimentary breakfast and dinner were both included in the price. the hotel was located in a quiet and peaceful area, providing a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. We particularly enjoyed waking up to the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.
the internet connection was incredibly spotty and unreliable, making it difficult to stay connected.

Nestled in lush gardens, this unique hotel is a great choice for those wanting to explore the local area. You can easily walk to several cafes and restaurants nearby, and it's a convenient location for excursions to other nearby attractions. the rooms themselves are cosy and well-decorated, with tropical-themed bathrooms and comfy beds. the friendly staff offer great service and are always happy to help.
The hotel could improve by providing hairdryers and more amenities.

I had the most refreshing and invigorating swim in my own private waterfall right outside my room at Hotel Kalang Ulu. The little pond was a delightful addition, perfect for a relaxing dip. And let's not forget about the balcony hammock – it was pure bliss! I highly recommend this hotel for a unique and rejuvenating experience.

During my Christmas vacation, my family and I stayed at a hotel in a mountainous region. We really appreciated the stunning views of the surrounding nature visible from our room, which added to our overall experience. the staff was friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home during our stay. We also enjoyed the affordable rates of the hotel, which made it a great option for a holiday getaway.
We did have some negative experiences as well. we found that the room lacked proper ventilation making it feel stuffy and uncomfortable at times.

The hotel's beautiful garden landscape, filled with flowers and plants, created a relaxing and peaceful environment. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist with transportation and arranging mountain guides. The cozy lobby and rooftop provided wonderful spots to enjoy the stunning sunset. Additionally, the basic amenities in the room were exactly what I expected, and the provided dental kit was a pleasant surprise. The meals, particularly the tasty satay, were enjoyable despite the limited menu options.
All aspects of my stay at this hotel were satisfactory.
